Brand Identity for the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority
Logo Reveal — Ports of Genoa, new visual identity 2026

The new Ports of Genoa logo is not a simple graphic restyling, but the visual synthesis of a new strategic posture. We leave behind the descriptive representation of the past to embrace a symbol that speaks of system, speed, and responsibility.
It is a mark designed not only to identify an institution, but to compete as a fundamental infrastructure in the Mediterranean.
Four geometric modules represent the four basins of the system: Vado, Savona, Prà and Genova. The diagonal composition evokes the stripes of a Merchant Navy Captain — competence, authority, governance.
The chromatic gradient is a visual timeline: from deep Navy Blue (sea, tradition) to luminous Aqua Green (land, sustainability). The tricolour closes as a dynamic signature — the pride of Italian logistics.
"GENOA" solid and dominant affirms the territorial brand. "PORTS" light and elegant defines the function. The italic "of" softens the geometry, reminding us that behind containers there are people.
A project born from an in-depth analysis of the positioning of the world's leading port systems
Comparative analysis of brand identities of the world's leading port systems: from Rotterdam to Singapore, from Hamburg to Shanghai.
After creating the first visual identity in 2018, Arachno was chosen again to redesign the port system's face — a confirmation of trust and expertise.
The new identity accompanies a programme of infrastructural, environmental, technological and digital interventions worth over EUR 3.6 billion.
The port system of Genoa, Prà, Savona and Vado is Italy's first for traffic directed to the most productive areas of the North West.
A strategic hub for international trade from East to West, with an integrated logistics platform and global maritime connections.
"This project represents the fusion between the authority of an institution and the dynamism of a modern system. We sought a sign that was solid in its roots yet swift in its intentions — the face of a port that looks towards the horizon."
